Jameela Jamil Got Involved In The Kim Kardashian Island Birthday Drama

Kim Kardashian West got rightfully laughed at by the internet for trying to humble-brag and deflect from her absolute audacity in hosting a private island birthday event for her 40th. Well, Queen of Social Justice and Everything Else Because She Always Has An Opinion On Something, Jameela Jamil, somehow got involved in the drama. And by “somehow,” I mean she herself tweeted to her 1 million followers about people blaming her, and then wondered: “Why is everyone looking at me after I brought all this attention to myself?“The CheatSheet says that after Kim started getting shit on online, someone entered Jameela’s mentions to somehow blame her for Kim’s behavior. How do we know this? Jameela told us. She said “everyone” was blaming her for Kim’s bragging, because Jameela is a force in the “acknowledge your privilege” circle, I guess. She’s always going off about tummy tea and makeup and maternity shapewear. So what isn’t something Jameela will crusade about, really? But I think the crux of Jameela’s strenuous-connection to this drama comes from that time someone said Jameela had good skin, and she ranted about privilege. So that makes Jameela the expert, and now it’s all her fault whenever rich people talk about their privilege, I guess. But she wants to make clear, it’s not her fault Kim can’t read a room during a pandemic , it’s ours.Ahaha this is hilarious. You’re all blaming me for Kim acknowledging her privilege. It’s not my fault. YOU ALL DID THIS. You screamed at everyone to acknowledge their privilege and now people are, you’re calling it bragging. So you’re just gonna have to decide what you want!— Jameela Jamil October 28, 2020Kim acknowledged her privilege for having a bday party and ppl are saying it’s my fault because I once told someone who complimented my skin that it’s important to not hold the beauty standards of people like me, with much easier lives/more privilege and help as “the standard”— Jameela Jamil October 28, 2020Jameela then wondered how and why she got involved in the drama that she just involved herself in, and asked whether acknowledging privilege is better than not acknowledging it.I don’t know how/why I got dragged into this but I find it highly amusing. And also a pretty good opportunity to figure out how people are best in moving forward.— Jameela Jamil October 28, 2020I mean, rubbing in people’s faces that you are rich, is not “acknowledging privilege.” Acknowledging privilege is knowing you have it so good when people don’t, that you choose to shut the fuck up about it and mind your business. Like how we never knew Chris Evans had an amazing penis until we saw it by accident. He didn’t want to brag – he minded his business. But I don’t believe the concept of minding your own business and Jameela Jamil have ever crossed paths, and I’m not sure they ever will.Pic: Wenn.comDlisted
