We all know how excited Daniel Craig was to play James Bond for a fifth and final time in the upcoming 25th Bond film No Time To Die. So it seems entirely too fitting that the theme song for Daniel Craig’s final appearance would be written and recorded by the current queen of unimpressed “Let’s get this over with” energy, Billie Eilish. It was announced today that 18-year-old Billie Eilish was chosen, along with her older brother and writing partner Finneas O’Connell, to do the NTTD theme. Billie teased the news in a series of Instagram Stories in which she posted pictures of female Bond actresses. The official James Bond Twitter account later confirmed the news. As they mention, she’ll be the youngest artist to record a James Bond theme. The #NoTimeToDie title song will be performed by @billieeilish. Billie has written the song with her brother @finneas and is the youngest artist in history to write and record a James Bond theme song. pic.twitter.com/Qd5cYIRlmg— James Bond January 14, 2020Billie released a statement regarding her song, saying:“It feels crazy to be a part of this in every way. To be able to score the theme song to a film that is part of such a legendary series is a huge honor. James Bond is the coolest film franchise ever to exist. I’m still in shock.”Somewhere, a concerned Drake just texted Billie: “Hey, heard you’re hanging out with some older rich dude named James. Haha that’s cool but also like, how serious is it?”Billie Eilish is a really surprising choice for me, mostly because I thought that 2020 technically belonged to Lizzo. But also because I honestly would have thought Billie only knew James Bond as the movies that dads fall asleep to. And I have no idea what a Billie Eilish Bond theme will sound like. I’m predicting something like “No Time To Die .”Every Bond film has a theme song attached to the movie, and sometimes they’re extremely good . Other times they’re so good they win an Oscar; the last two Bond themes took home the Academy Award for Best Original Song. That means there’s a chance Billie could get one too. If you need Taylor Swift, she’ll be taking her rage out on her Cats contract.Pic: Wenn.comDlisted
